how did the spaniard and people of the new world treat each other?
Relationships in the new world
When Columbus first sailed to the New World there was a sense of peace between the Spaniards and the New World. However relationships became tense when a war broke out between the Arawak's and 39 mean Columbus left behind on his voyage back to Spain killing all 39. After this incident the Arawaks and the Spaniards never had good relations. They fought often and the Spaniards viewed the Amerindians closer to slaves than their own neighbors.
